Turning in their pop songs and parodies for a time, the guys score an angelic success with their third album. The hefty spirituality and sensational harmonies led Reverence to become runner-up as Best Religious Album at the 2001 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. Even had they walked away with more than second place, it would not be an adequate honor for the feeling captured by the album's title. In these 14 tracks, hear runaway arrangements of popular Christian favorites that are reminiscent of the Kings Singers. The guys seemed to crank up their blending level a few notches to achieve a more heavenly sound. As difficult as it is to pick highlights, everyone should agree that "Joseph Smith's First Prayer," a calmer version of "Silence," and "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" are some of the group's reigning contributions. Pleasant surprises are "Jesus Christ the Apple Tree," a live rendition of "Prayer of the Children," and Emily Haacke's guest vocals on the warming original hymn "Turning."
