Keith Urban: Greatest Hits isn't chronologically sequenced — Urban's first big chart-topper, the twangy and spiritual "But for the Grace Of God" appears 11 songs deep. And since his first band, the Ranch, never landed a radio hit, Urban's rocking cover of Stealer's Wheel's "Stuck In the Middle With You" didn't make the roster. But the rest of this collection delivers the hits as well as a couple of prerequisite bonus tunes that come included with all good country compilations — the best one here being a mellow, rocking cover of Steve Forbert's 1979 hit "Romeo's Tune." Urban's impassioned, post-rehab apology to his wife, Nicole Kidman, surfaces in all its six-minute-plus glory in the form of “Stupid Boy.” (And that epic, wide-stance, guitar solo at the end never gets old). Of course this comp wouldn't be complete without the catchy and uplifting "Days Go By" or the playfully self-deprecating "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me." All in all, Keith Urban: Greatest Hits thoroughly represents eight solid years of the man's hits.
