This album is Mastered for iTunes. Peter Frampton’s 1976 double-LP live album Frampton Comes Alive! is a touchstone of the era. It was a remarkable achievement and the apex of his career. His guitar playing is among the most underrated in rock. “Show Me the Way” and “Baby, I Love Your Way” are classic hits, but it’s the subtleties of “Lines on My Face”, “Winds of Change” and the expansive 13-plus minutes of “Do You Feel Like We Do” that make this a fully dominating accomplishment. Frampton’s cover of “Jumping Jack Flash” is indicative of ’70s arena rock, fleshed out with keyboards and long instrumental breaks. “Somethin’s Happening”, “Doobie Wah” and “It’s a Plain Shame” round out this moment in rock history.
