After rising from the rubble of Buffalo Springfield, Poco not only often suffered dismal album sales; they also survived losses of key members (Richie Furay and Jim Messina, plus both Randy Meisner and Timothy B. Schmit, who went to The Eagles). This well-curated set represents Poco during their latter-day period of the mid-’70s to the early ’80s, when their brand of country rock finally won a wider audience. There’s no escaping the strolling, dobro-stroked “Rose of Cimarron,” the instantly recognizable ballad “Crazy Love” (the band’s biggest hit), or “Under the Gun,” an early, should’ve-been-huge example of power-pop country.
