Randy Crawford's charming second album was produced by Bob Montgomery (a veteran hand with Bobby Goldsboro and Billy Sherrill), and some tracks undeniably have a slight country-ish/Southern soul feel to them. It's a perfect showcase for Crawford's interpretive skill. She makes the Don Henley/Glenn Frey song "Desperado" and the Mack Gordon/Harry Warren standard "At Last" equally her own. Both "Desperado" and her erotically charged take on Paul Kelly's "Under the Influence of You" received airplay on R&B/soul-formatted FM stations. Miss Randy Crawford was a tasty precursor for what was to come.
