Even after the departure of the band's two frontmen (first Arnaldo Antunes and then Nando Reis), and the tragic death of guitarist Marcelo Fromer, Titãs refused to give it up. This is their first release after the death of Fromer and the band manage to maintain a surprisingly high standard of rock music. It may not be the inspired and highly creative Titãs from the band's glory days in the '80s and early '90s, but Melhor Banda de Todos Os Tempos Da Última Semana is still a solid rock album, with music well above average standard. "Um Morto De Férias" and "É Bom Desconfiar" have a clear touch of radio-friendly pop, "Vamos Ao Trabalho" tends toward punk, "Eu Não Presto" is another of the band's flirtations with ska, and "Mesmo Sozinho" is a rather melancholic ballad. These are the highlights of yet another fine album from one of Brazil's most talented and interesting rock bands.
