SpaceX\u00a0had invited students from all over the world to build a pod that would use Hyperloop&#8217;s technology to attempt to cover a one-mile distance in the shortest possible time. WARR Hyperloop emerged the clear winner, touching a top speed of 360 kmph. Second-placed Paradigm Hyperloop managed to touch a speed of 100 kmph, while third placed SwissLoop, a team from ETH Zurich, managed a sedate 39 kmph.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Among the 24 member field was<span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">\u00a0<a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" href=\"http:\/\/officechai.com\/stories\/bits-pilani-team-now-finalist-elon-musks-hyperloop-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hyperloop India<\/a><\/span>, a team of BITS Pilani students who&#8217;d built their pod out of a metro station in Bangalore. Hyperloop India made it to California, but was unable to race its pod.&#8221;(T)he pod and its components couldn&#8217;t be shipped in time for the p<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">od to complete all tests and run on the SpaceX track,&#8221; said the team in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27645\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Hyperloop-final-2.jpeg?resize=600%2C400\" alt=\"Hyperloop final (2)\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Hyperloop-final-2.jpeg?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Hyperloop-final-2.jpeg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Hyperloop-final-2.jpeg?resize=500%2C333&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Hyperloop-final-2.jpeg?resize=95%2C62&amp;ssl=1 95w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Hyperloop India had been struggling to raise funds for their project. As little as a month before the competition, they&#8217;d started a crowdfunding campaign to transport their pod to the US. Though they&#8217;d managed to nab several corporate sponsorships, from government entities such as \u00a0BEML India and some private universities, the\u00a0delay meant that the were unable to race on D-Day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">The team, though, is looking at the positives. &#8220;We are incredibly proud to have built in 2 months a vehicle that is scalable, feasible, and that people can aspire to travel in, in the future,&#8221; the team said. The team also hinted at a possible collaboration with Hyperloop One, the US-based startup that&#8217;s currently in talks with the Indian government to bring the Hyperloop to
